Morning Tour Facts

How far is the hike? Do I need a certain level of fitness to go on this tour?

The hike/tour is about 1 mile long. It's very leisurely and enjoyable for guests wanting an active experience. We walk the 1 mile distance in a little less than an hour.

We cross the Galena bridge twice which has steps on either side of it also. It is important to wear comfortable shoes ! Because we will be traversing steps, we consider this an active tour. Always check the weather forecast and dress accordingly.

Is it like a normal food tour?

Yes, however it is around half the time with half the normal stops (3 to 4 stops vs the 7 stop on the Historic Galena Food Tour). This tour is also an active tour because we walk around a mile in length and go up and down steps several times.

What about inclement weather?

This morning food tour operates rain or shine however if the weather is very bad, please contact us at [email protected] or 815.310.0507 for a full refund.

Can I cancel my booking for any other reason?

We offer a full refund if the cancellation is made prior to 48 hrs before the start of food tour.

Where does the morning hike begin?

The "Donut Worry, Be Hikey" tour begins at 10 AM at the base of the steps on Water Street leading to the bridge crossing into Grant Park. (see our map above)

I heard proceeds from this tour go to charity?

Historic Galena is proud to announce that a portion of the proceeds after administrative costs from the "Donut Worry, Be Hikey!" tour go to financially supporting the Galena-community youth scholastically & first-time entrepreneurs within the community as well as providing assistance within the community.   • Weather Conditions: We conduct food tours rain, snow or shine. If you have purchased a ticket and decide you do not want to continue with the tour, you will not be reimbursed for the ticket price.

  • All bookings are refundable before 48 hrs (2 days) prior to the food tour.
